Anyway, put your feet up, enjoy the show, and just remember: While FCD will never have the likes of Marco Reus or Olivier Giroud, these two teams don’t have two current and former players who have appeared on HGTV.

Over the past few years, we’ve gotten to see all sorts of versions of the Seattle Sounders: the better-than-expected expansion team (2009), the MLS Cup contenders (most years), the all-conquering champions of CONCACAF (2022), the non-playoff team (also 2022), and now the “pretty good, but not really that good” version.

Listen, man, I don’t like this any more than you do. I like interesting games, especially between two teams whose pairings haven’t been crammed down our throats for over a decade.

Anyone remember when Nashville SC was good? You should. It wasn’t that long ago.

MLS has not designated this week as MLS Rivalry Week Sponsored by Chico’s Bail Bonds, but we do have a few rivalry games.

The truth is that the LA Galaxy have gotten somewhat more sympathetic over the last few years. Their crosstown rivals have taken up the mantle of LA’s glamour team.
