Former FC Dallas midfielder and Honduran International Ramón Núñez has signed with the Mesquite Outlaws. The now 34-year-old Núñez dabbled with Fort Vaqueros since he last played for Fort Lauderdale Strikers in 2016.
Núñez first signed with FC Dallas as a Generation adidas after his freshman season at SMU. This was an era of MLS prior to Homegrowns and the Academy, so Núñez was forced to go to one season of college despite the fact he training with FCD’s MLS side since he was 15. Núñez had a second stint with FCD in 2013.
In a pro-career that stretched from 2004 to 2016, Núñez played for Chivas USA, Olimpia, Cruz Azul, Leeds United, Real España, and finally Fort Lauderdale Strikers, to name a few.
Núñez played 44 times for Honduras including all three matches at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
