FC Dallas midfielder Pablo Aranguiz has rejoined his old club Union Espanola.  The Chilean club tweeted out tonight an image of Aranguiz re-signing with the team.  While there is no official word yet from FC Dallas, reports have been around for a few days that Aranguiz would be rejoining UE on a 6-month loan.

Update (11:49 am, July 29): FC Dallas has confirmed the loan through the end of the 2019 season.

Aranguiz hasn’t been fitting in well here in Dallas under new coach Luchi Gonzalez who’s system doesn’t use a #10, which is the Chilean midfielder’s natural position.  So most close observers of the FCD had been expecting a move like this for a while now.

With the deal looking to be a 6-month loan, Aranguiz could hypothetically end up back in Dallas for the 2020 MLS season.  Although that might be a tough pill to swallow for the player.

Aranguiz put a pic of himself on Instagram earlier today back in Chile.

3rd Degree reported earlier this week that Aranguiz had told his teammates in Dallas he had been “sold back to Chile.”

Aranguiz first joined FC Dallas in 2018 while being heralded as the future replacement for Mauro Diaz.  In 20 games since, including 10 starts, Aranguiz had failed to score a goal or register an assist.
