According to reports coming out of Brazil, FC Dallas has negotiated the transfer of Thiago Santos from Palmeiras for approximately $1 million. The report was first made by Rafael Del Mento from the Tá Lá Dentro channel.
Santos is a 30-year-old Brazilian defensive midfielder who has been with Palmeiras since 2015. He’s played over 180 games for the Brazilian club winning the Brasileiro in 2016 and 2018 as well as the Copa de Brasil in 2015.
Palmeiras is, however, looking to overhaul their squad and is selling players. FC Dallas Technical Director Andre Zanotta’s brother Alexandre is a Vice President at Palmeiras.
I expected FC Dallas to bring in a 6 this winter but was expecting more of a backup. The $1 million price sounds much more like a starting challenger.
