Joselito Vaca traded to Metro for future considerations

3rd Degree has learned that the Dallas Burn have traded Bolivian midfielder Joselito Vaca to MetroStars for conditional future considerations.  Vaca was stuck behind Ronnie O’Brien at right mid and with the recent drafting of Ramon Nunez, Vaca may have found his playing time reduced even further with the expected arrival of another central midfielder from Europe in the next couple weeks.  Little Joe Cow, as the fans call him, never lived up to the hope the Burn had for him when they drafted him 5th overall in 2001. Vaca’s best season was in 2002 when he had one goal and nine assists in 25 games.

Update: In return for Vaca the Burn receive a 2005 1st round SuperDraft pick.  The pick can fall to a 2nd rounder based on Vaca’s availability (20 regular season games) as Metro had concerns about call ups to Bolivia etc. Metro does not currently have a 1st rounder in 2005.  There is a drop dead date in the deal after which it becomes a 1st AND a 2nd in 2006.
