FCD Lineup Prediction

With Maarten Paes gone, Michael Collodi will be in, that’s been made obvious by the club.

After that, it gets interesting for Coach Eric Quill so I’m shooting blind on a few of the ideas here. When you lose two games at home like the last two, all tactics and personnel bets are off.

We know Kaick is in town and trained all week, plus the club reportedly spent $4 mil on him. That makes him the 4th biggest signing in club history. Bad team play + big signing = my guess he goes straight into the lineup.

On top of that, Kaick’s athleticism and range mean Quill can play more of a single pivot and I think he will want to get more bodies in midfield. Show Cafumana returned to training, everyone seems be eager to get him playing and Anderson Julio hasn’t made it back with his green card yet.

So I’m calling this a 4-3-3 but there will be a lot of fluidity to the shape. Acosta and Farrington will do a lot of swapping and Acosta will come underneath a great so it might even look like a diamond 4 a fair amount of the time. If Lletget releases forward, it will look 4-2-3-1 at times too. This shape also let FCD bracket the new kid in the 6 with two vets in the defense block.
