Rookie of the Year: Jay Heaps, Miami Fusion
        Is Miami the Dodgers of MLS.  Lots of great Rookies, no titles.. (1998: Leo Cullen, Mia)

Best Mid Season pick up: Mauricio Wright, San Jose Clash
        Just what San Jose needed; a skillful, confident center back. (1998: Chad Deering, Dal)

Trade of the Year: Carlos Valdarama, NY/NJ MetroStars, for ??Tab Ramos, Miami Fusion
        Swap of high salaries??. (1998: Roy Lassiter for Roy Wegerle, DC and TB)

Pack Your Bags Award: Alexi Lalas, KC Wizards
        2000 will see 4th new team in 4 years. (1998: Eric Wynalda, SJ)
