Arturo Rodriguez Named USL League One MVP

After earlier this week being named USL-1 Young Player of the Year, North Texas Soccer Club’s Arturo Rodriguez has now also been named League One MVP.

Make no mistake, Rodriguez is well-deserving of both honors. Rodriguez led North Texas SC to the USL-1 Championship earning Final MVP and led USL-1 in assists with 10.

Rodriguez also scored 7 goals for NTXSC along the way. Rodriguez also led League One with 72 chances created, 52 of which came from open play. Rodriguez isn’t just offense, he’s a two-way player recording a league-high 61 tackles won at a 67.8 percent success rate.

Rodriguez received 47 percent of the vote to receive the award, with North Texas SC teammate Ronaldo Damus finishing in second place with 12 percent. Nine players in total received votes for the award.

The 2019 USL League One Awards were voted on by team management. Voting was conducted following the conclusion of the 2019 League One regular season.

  1. He is certainly well deserving of the honor. He provided a well balanced contribution to the success of his team and excitement to the league followers. I am a little surprised he only got 47% – I thought it would have been higher.
